What does a woman rebuilding her life need first? Safe housing? Mental health support? A job? Community?
The truth is, it’s rarely just one. Women deserve wraparound support to ensure that they never have to choose between safety, healing, income, or connection.

Helping future Personal Support Workers find their path 🙌
Thanks to everyone who joined Street Haven's Careers in Personal Support Worker (PSW) panel on January 29! We heard from PSWs, trainers, and employers who shared practical advice, training options, certification tips, and real talk about what the job actually looks like.
A few key things we learned:
PSW work is about hands-on care, good communication, and compassion
You can get trained and certified pretty quickly through accredited programs
Employers look for practical experience, reliability, and people who want to learn

We’re always touched when our funders go the extra mile to support the work we do! A huge thank you to Jayne Garner, Director of Operations at @wcg.services , for thinking of us.
When Jayne read our newsletter and saw our request for pillows and blankets, she responded with sending two giant bags full of duvets, blankets, pillows AND clothes.
WCG provides the funding and guidance to Street Haven so we can train and find employment for women in our community.
We love that individuals from our funders not only support our programs but also take the time to care about our day-to-day needs.
