  • 30 containers of soup. One room full of @sunlifeca employees. A whole lot of heart. 🍲

Yesterday, our team members Katie and Lilly got to witness something really special, a team from Sun Life Financial spending their afternoon making soup with @soup_sisters and choosing to direct every single serving to the women at Street Haven.

We got to look them in the eye and tell them exactly where their soup was going.

That moment? That's why these events matter. It's not a team-building exercise. It's connection. It's someone realizing their afternoon became someone else's warm meal on a hard day.

Soup Sisters has been doing this work for 16+ years, and we're so grateful to be part of their community 🧡

Sun Life + Soup Sisters, thank you for giving back in the most nourishing way possible.

  • She came to us exhausted.

She left ready to start again.

At Grant House, over 90% of our clients leave with measurable decreases in depression and anxiety.

But what does that actually look like?

It looks like art therapy on a Tuesday afternoon. A one-on-one with a psychotherapist who gets it. Meals, community, and a place to finally breathe.

90 days to understand how addiction has touched your relationships, your health, and your sense of self. And to start building something new.

When women feel safe and supported, they heal. We see it every single day.

This work is made possible by our supporters and government partners who believe wraparound care isn't a luxury. It's how recovery works.

  • 91 Pembroke is getting ready for summer!

Staff and residents teamed up to clean, tidy, and refresh the outdoor space and thanks to a generous donor, brand new patio furniture now makes it the perfect spot to relax, connect, and enjoy the sunshine. 💛

A little teamwork goes a long way in creating a space that feels like home. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

  • 65 women. 65 new beginnings. 💙

In just the past three months, our team helped 65 women move from shelter into permanent housing, supporting them through mental health challenges, substance use, and serious medical needs along the way.

Every person in Toronto deserves the same chance to succeed. Services like these aren't optional, they're crucial. Proud to keep showing up for our community.

  • Sometimes the best moments are the unplanned ones. 💛

Last week, @medtronic surprised us with a visit and bags full of essentials for our clients. Socks, menstrual products, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Items that go a long way in making our clients feel seen and cared for.

We are so grateful to be part of a community that shows up like this. Thank you, Medtronic.

  • After years of searching for a way forward, Kim took one brave step and it changed everything.

She found her footing at Grant House and grew stronger at 87 Pembroke, supported every step of the way by staff who believed in her before she could fully believe in herself. Today, she's thriving in Street Haven's supportive housing program, more confident, more grounded, and more herself than ever before.

The relationships she built along the way made all the difference. Through consistent encouragement and a community that truly saw her, Kim began to rediscover her own strength.

She also found painting as a personal outlet, a quiet practice that lets her express what words can't quite hold.

Kim greets each day as a second chance. And her story is a reminder of what becomes possible when the right support meets someone who's ready to rise.

Thank you, Kim, for your trust and for the light your story brings to so many. 💙
