Mental Health Services
About us
Street Haven provides both shelter resident therapy, non-resident therapy services, as well as therapy to those looking to start their journey while in the treatment program at Grant House. The psychotherapy program is designed to address various challenges, including trauma, substance use, and other mental health challenges. The organization employs a harm-reduction spectrum approach, which includes abstinence-based perspectives, and offers support through individual and group counseling sessions, as well as aftercare and relapse prevention counseling. Additionally, the supportive housing program offers accommodations for women recovering from trauma, mental wellness challenges, or substance abuse issues, helping them set personal goals and live independently.
Success Factors
- Client Readiness :
Ensuring participants are prepared and committed to the recovery process through a trauma informed intake process. Clients will be assessed based on a variety of standardized tools including the Transtheoretical model, GAD-7, PHQ-9, PCL-5, and OQ-45, among other assessments. The therapist will use a variety of flexible engagement strategies to meet unique clients needs.
- Evidence-Based Programming :
The psychotherapist will tailor treatment plans to each client while implementing evidence-based best practices for presenting challenges. All therapeutic work is done from a trauma-informed lens.
- Harm Reduction Approaches :
Approaching client care and therapy with a non-judgemental and client centered philosophy. Clients will be met where they are at in terms of goals, whether that is abstinence, reduced use, or prioritizing safety. The therapist will provide psychoeducation while empowering clients’ voice and choice.
- Whole-Person Approach :
Psychotherapeutic treatment plans are conducted holistically, taking a biopsychosocial perspective on client concerns. Accordingly, mental health, physical health, emotional health, spiritual health, and sociocultural health, among other domains, will be addressed, alongside multidisciplinary collaboration.
