Pathways to Independence

About Us

The Pathways to Independence (P2I) Program provides up to 12 months of individualized case management support to women who are transitioning into permanent housing, as well as those at risk of losing their housing due to vulnerable tenancies.

Core Pillars:

1. Housing Stabilization

  • Assisting clients in furnishing and personalizing their new homes to create a sense of comfort and stability
  • Communicating with landlords and housing providers to address and prevent tenancy issues
  • Supporting clients in maintaining consistent and timely rent payments

2. Community Integration

  • Helping clients become familiar with their new neighborhood, including nearby grocery stores, libraries, and community centers
  • Connecting clients with food banks and other community resources to help ease financial pressures
  • Making medical and community-based referrals to ensure clients have access to long-term supports and services

P2I supports up to 40 women at a time, with services tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant. Referrals to the program must be made through City of Toronto Coordinated Access by a client’s support worker.
