A heartfelt thank-you to Sistering for hosting such a warm and engaging evening filled with great food, important conversations, and opportunities for organizations to learn from one another. Hearing from leaders like Volletta Peters (Sistering) and Leslie Gash (Toronto Shelter Network) was a powerful reminder that we are stronger when we show up together. Grateful to stay connected, stay involved, and continue supporting women in our community. #womensupportingwomen #StreetHaven #community #advocacy

Using welcome centres and working with a case worker herself, she noticed something important—there was a real need for more services for newcomers, especially in Farsi and Arabic. That experience inspired her to start volunteering and eventually pursue her calling in social services. "I wanted to give back," Lilly shares. Growing up in Iran, where social services for women are limited, she has always felt a strong pull towards helping women build better lives. Combined with her background in Psychology, Lilly brings both heart and expertise to her role. For Lilly, Street Haven represents the perfect opportunity to address the challenges she once experienced as a newcomer to Toronto and to be part of an organization truly dedicated to women's wellbeing.
