  • We have the BEST community. 💜

@kopsrecords, Toronto's oldest independent record store, chose to support Street Haven as their International Women's Day initiative this year, donating 10% of their proceeds to support the women we serve. And today, Mary Koppel stopped by in person to drop off their donation, and we’re thrilled to share they raised $1,100!

This is what community looks like. A local Toronto institution using their platform to create real impact and honestly, we're just so grateful. Thank you, Kops Records, for showing up for Street Haven and the women in our community. We're so lucky to call you a friend!

  • We are so grateful for our friends at H&R Block! 🙌💙

For several years, they've been showing up for Street Haven and the women we serve, offering free tax services to our clients AND making a generous annual donation. This year, they came through with an incredible $5,000 gift. 🎉

Partnerships like this one are built on trust, consistency, and a genuine belief in our mission, and that means everything to us. Thank you to H&R Block and District Manager, Blair St. Amand for your generosity and support!

  • As part of Street Haven’s Employment services’ 1 year anniversary, we asked Christy her experience of receiving employment services from the team:

This is what Christy had to say:

“Street Haven at the Crossroads provided me with invaluable support and resources, helping me overcome challenges and achieve my career goals. I highly recommend their services to other women seeking job opportunities. Before coming to Street Haven, I felt lost and discouraged in my job search. I was facing challenges with updating my resume, preparing for interviews, and understanding the local job market in Toronto. The team at Street Haven provided invaluable support and guidance. They helped me revamp my resume to highlight my skills and experience, and they offered mock interviews that boosted my confidence. The staff also connected me with networking opportunities and job postings that were relevant to my career goals. Other women can expect to find a supportive and empowering environment at Street Haven. They offer a range of resources, including career counseling, job search workshops, and access to computers and internet. The agency is dedicated to helping women overcome barriers to employment and achieve their career aspirations.

A heartfelt thank you to the management and staff of Street Haven at the Crossroads."

From the heart that Street Haven cared for,
Christy Toyin Ijiola

Congratulation to Christy for finding a job as a personal Support Worker through the support of the employment team at Street Haven at the Crossroads.
